Alchemy Jenningz is the architect of “Sonic Brutalism,” a white producer-artist rooted in the high-intellect,
academic culture of the Midwest before finding her “cold” aesthetic in Los Angeles. Her background is a collision of structural engineering logic and classical cello precision, which she translates into “deconstructed” electronic landscapes.
She represents the “Art-Damaged” elite of Silver Lake, treating sound as a physical material to be dissected.
Rather than following traditional hip-hop or pop structures, Alchemy uses found-sound percussion and digital distortion to create “audio-visual environments.”
She acts as a technical obsessive who bridges the gap between CalArts academic theory and the raw, heavy sub-bass of the LA underground.
